12月までの活動!

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the lack of updates, we were busy having fun with various events! You can find our photos in our photo gallery

Here's what we did!

May 31st: Durian Party

One day, we were having lunch when one of our students said, "I have not tried durian before! I want to try it but no one wants to try it with me! Why don't we have a durian party?"

So, we asked our students if they were interested and the number of people interested was unexpectedly high! So off we went to buy the durians for our party!

We bought a lot of durian, didn't we?
Some of our Singaporean friends heard about our durian party and came to join us!

Look at everyone's expressions; they are so serious!

We did a poll that day. 7 Japanese students joined the party.

2 people liked it, 3 people were okay with it and 2 people didn't like it at all.

Are the results surprising to you?

August 10th: Walk@Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

We went to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve for our monthly walk.

The weather was humid but otherwise was wonderful.

Why don't you come with us next time?

August 18th: Dinner@Por Kee Eating House

We went to Por Kee Eating House for dinner. They serve very good Chinese food.

Some of our students have never met before. Here they are exchanging their name cards!

Many people joined us that day as it was a Sunday.

We sat at a big round table and shared stories of Singapore life!

September 17th: Mid-Autumn Festival@Chinatown

It was Mid-Autumn Festival in Singapore so we went to Chinatown for dinner. There was a light-up there as well and it was very beautiful! Did you visit Chinatown too?

We had dinner at a Chinese restaurant serving traditional SiChuan cuisine first.

Then we went shopping! They are holding on to mooncakes. It must have been delicious~

October 25th: Lunch@Prata Planet

We went to have lunch after our English lesson today.

Some students said they have never had Roti Prata before so we went to an Indian restaurant!

Tissue Prata
We ordered many different types of Indian food that day. There was the tissue prata, roti prata, thosai and murtabak. They were all very good.

Mushroom Cheese Murtabak / Roti Prata
Have you tried them all before?

December 6th: Panettone Milanese
It's going to be Christmas soon so we decided to share this 1kg Panetonne Milanese with our students!

This is a bread from Italy and is commonly called a Christmas Cake by many people. It was originally what the chefs in the Catholic church made for the priests to eat during the winter month so they can take a break from making bread every morning. It's something like the Japanese Osechi!
The Panettone Milanese contains dried orange peel, candied citrus fruits and raisins. It has a very high sugar content so you can keep it in the open for a month without it going bad!

Here is Aki san explaining this to everyone!
